Actual roofing costs can differ materially because of location, labor availability, roof access, pitch, stories, decking condition, structural damage, permit requirements, disposal, flashing, ventilation, underlayment, skylights, chimneys, gutters, taxes, contractor overhead and profit, and other project-specific conditions. We publish our formulas, source links, and known limitations on the Methodology page. A source may change after we review it. We try to correct material errors, but we do not warrant that every source or estimate is complete, current, or suitable for a specific property.
